Medical certification

The amendment of the Law on the farmers' social insurance, accepted by the Polish Parliament on 12 September 1996, created legal base for establishing the system of medical certification in the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund. The certificates relating to:

1. permanent or protracted impairment of health and its causes,
   
2. permanent or protracted incapacity to work on the farm,
   
3. term of controlling check-up in case of justifiable granting of disability pension as temporary pension,
   
4. ascertainment of incapacity to live by one-self,
   
5. establishment of indications for rehabilitation are given in first instance by the doctors-experts and in second instance, by the Fund's medical boards.
   
6. The Fund's medical certification is an internal proceeding that is taken up in order to establish the insured person's right to benefits. The certificates are the Fund's internal documents without any external application.
   

The certification of first instance, i.e. by doctor-expert, is organized in local offices; the certification of second instance, i.e. by the KRUS medical board, is organized in regional branches.
